Family Practice
The Alberta Indigenous Virtual Care Clinic (AIVCC) serves individuals self-identifying as First Nations, Inuit, or Métis, and their immediate family members. Patients and their caregivers can book an appointment (by phone or by video) with an Alberta-based Physician; all whom have experience working at in-person clinics or facilities serving Indigenous or other vulnerable populations.
The clinic provides episodic care seven days a week with extended hours into weekends and some evenings. This service is ideal for patients who do not have a regular primary care provider or lack appropriate access to a primary care provider for a non-urgent issue. We collaborate closely with other care providers to ensure patients are receiving care in a timely and medically-appropriate manner. This means we may redirect you to 811 or the Indigenous Support Line for triaging who will refer back to us if your concern is deemed appropriate for virtual care. As well as if the physician determines an in-person exam is needed we will refer to an available clinic near your location.
The clinic will not book urgent or emergency appointments.
